I'm interested in:
craft, coincidence, control, material, beauty, process, history and tradition, repetition
I don't want to be interested in (although I may be):
pleasing, being conventional, money, image and reputation
I'm not interested in:
mass production, gadgets, excessive luxury, performing, personality cult, being photographed, sports and vacuum cleaners
I want to be interested in (although some of it is
really hard): structures, beauty, my own technology, nature
the path to where I want to get:
be courageous and honest, work hard, don't fear the results
meret probst was born in December of 1984 and grew up in Basel, Switzerland.
At 16, meret dropped out of high school to go to art school. After an education in the basics of 2D and 3D design, meret first studied product design at the prestigious ECAL school in Lausanne, Switzerland, which she quit after the first semester because she and her tutors weren't seeing eye-to-eye.
meret proceeded to get her BA in industrial design from the Art and Design Academy in Aarau, Switzerland, a small school specializing in teaching the skills and knowledge of classical industrial design.
In the summer of 2012 meret graduated with a Masters degree from the Royal College of Art in London, UK. She is the recipient of an education stipend from the IKEA foundation, Switzerland.
Since graduating from the RCA, meret has been working as a freelance product designer based in London. Feel free to contact her at email@example.com to discuss any design needs you have.
